COMMERICAL RENOVATION

Our story

Since 2008, our family firm has proudly supplied vintage cast iron radiators to characterful homes, period properties and universities, cathedrals and palaces across the UK. The core of our team is father and daughter duo Andrew and Fliss.

Meet the founder - Andrew Whittingham

While renovating his own home, Andrew struggled to find experts to help restore his antique cast iron radiators. Most companies only offered cosmetic fixes. Frustrated, he decided to learn the craft himself.

With a background in art, a keen eye for design, and a varied hands-on career, Andrew founded Vintage Cast Iron Radiators. His aim was to restore and supply beautiful, functional radiators - done properly. Vintage Cast Iron Radiators now receives commissions from homeowners, designers and national heritage organisations across the UK.

"Every client deserves a personal, bespoke service. From day one, I didn’t want to be high-turnover, low-quality. Instead we offer trusted advice, reliable radiators, and exceptional aftercare." – Andrew Whittingham

Meet the family - Fliss Whittingham

Fliss is the first point of contact for most of our clients. She has a strong background in customer service, design, and project management. Fliss joined the family business after a successful career in luxury retail. She previously managed a fine art gallery and led a flagship jewellery boutique.

From helping clients choose the right radiator style and finish, to managing large-scale commercial orders, Fliss combines hands-on experience with deep product knowledge. And yes, she builds radiators too. Because knowing how they work is the key to matching a client with the perfect solution for their project.

"My Dad and I share the same values: offering honest advice and ensuring every client has a positive experience. We work with some of the most beautiful, functional pieces you can have in a home. It’s a privilege to be part of that." – Fliss Whittingham

Our values

Vintage Cast Iron Radiators are proud to be part of Yorkshire’s rich industrial heritage. Our values reflect both our roots and our commitment to providing honest, high-quality service across the UK:

  • Educate and inform

If you visit us, you’ll see exactly how our radiators are restored. We love sharing the process and how quality craftsmanship sets our radiators apart from mass-produced alternatives.

  • Honest, expert advice

We’ll always tell you what’s best for your space and budget. Even if that means recommending a smaller radiator. Whether you're renovating a Yorkshire cottage or a London townhouse, we prioritise the right solution over the biggest sale.

  • Locally sourced parts

Many of the components we use are made by us, in our workshop. Or sourced from local engineers and fabricators.  If a part hasn’t been made in 100 years, chances are our contacts can recreate it.

  • No pressure

Visiting our York showroom? You’ll never be rushed into a decision. We help you make the right choice in your own time.

  • Proudly passionate

We love what we do. Our York-based team brings together decades of experience, craftsmanship, and design knowledge. We produce radiators that are as functional as they are beautiful.

  • Quality and service

We restore and supply cast iron radiators with care and precision. Every radiator is finished to the highest standard. Our process is always transparent. No guesswork, no surprises.

  • Sustainability

Restoring antique cast iron radiators is one of the most sustainable ways to heat a home. From reusing blast media to minimising waste, we run our Yorkshire workshop with the environment in mind. We also offer advice on how to improve efficiency and reduce heat loss.

  • Transparent pricing

We take the time to understand your needs and provide a clear, tailored quote. There’s no hard sell or hidden fees.
